Good fun and high jinx at the birthday lunch for the two latest septuagenarians of the club, (Steve & Rod) at Mid Sussex Golf Club on Tuesday 20th September. Drinking and delightfully served nourishment was enjoyed by all from 12.15pm through to 5.30pm interspersed with banter, frivolous conversation, possible slander, many distant memories, amazing Derren Brown/Dynamo predictions from Jagger and an explanation of Zachary disease from Syrett.

By no means forgotten, was the all too poignant toast to absent friends, most recently including Manor old boy Steve Mucklow, who sadly passed away from his undefeated illness on Thursday 1st September.

Tony's & Bob's 70th Birthday Lunch

Another great celebratory turnout for lunch at the Oak on the Green in Bearsted for our latest Septuagenarians (Tony & Bob).

A ‘pilates’ delayed function saw Tony arriving at 1pm for a 12.30pm sit down in the already very busy restaurant area and all 16 of us managed to squeeze around our elongated table. After scanning the extensive menu selection for around 5 minutes, Mick casually announced that we should be selecting from the Set Price Menu options which then threw half of the diners choices out of the window – well done Mick !!!

Eventually, the starters arrived and with the drinks flowing, we all tucked into the plentiful portions of food served up by the waitresses. Main courses were just as impressive, so much so that some desserts were foregone due to full stomachs !!!

Tony & Bob   JB caught nodding off!!!!
Coffee and farewells due to train journeys and poor weather saw the celebrations come to an inevitable end with everyone looking forward to the next event.
